Acoustic Energy AE320 is a slim tower speaker with compact dimensions perfectly suited for medium to large-sized rooms. The AE320 speaker uses three latest generation 130mm mid-bass drive units constructed from a new ceramic aluminum sandwich cone. The proprietary drivers were specially developed for the 300 series, with an ultra-shallow profile and a high force, long-throw motor system. The new drivers boast extended controlled bass, improved dispersion, and power handling.

The 28mm aluminum tweeter offers superb and balanced high-frequency detail while maintaining high power handling and low fundamental resonance to reduce distortion. The excellent dispersion characteristics are thanks to the patented Wide Dispersion Technology waveguides. The waveguide shapes the acoustic output of the tweeter to match the woofer and provides a broader soundstage and sweet spot.

The dead solid 18mm high density (HDF) cabinet uses proprietary bracing technology developed from the award-winning Reference Series. The inert cabinet reduces colouration and allows the new transducers to operate freely without vibration. A tuned, slot-shaped port on the back of the speaker augmented the bass output and was carefully developed to reduce air turbulence for clean, undistorted bass performance.

Finally, the base of the cabinet is pre-loaded with an inert mass material to add damping and minimize cabinet resonance. Mass loading paired with 8mm floor spikes helps stabilize the speaker and provides a solid foundation for the drive units to operate without vibration from the cabinet interacting with the floor surface.

The result of this latest drive unit technology and enclosure design is a slim-line, powerful floor-standing loudspeaker for the discerning listener when fine audio quality and elegant aesthetics are paramount.
